💥 Tomorrow, When the War Began Reviews

Personal Review

I remember reading this book as a kid and loving it! Seeing it on the screen was a blast from the past. While some of the acting felt a bit wooden, the explosions were awesome, and it kept me on the edge of my seat. That scene where they blow up the bridge? Epic! It made me want to join the resistance (in a totally safe, fictional way, of course). The characters were fun to follow. I especially loved Ellie and Homer and how they grow in the film. The film had a good pace. Overall a pretty good adaptation. I am happy!

Professional Reviews

  • The Australian Critic: “The movie blends teen angst with explosive action, offering a thrilling ride despite some familiar tropes. Stasey shines as the reluctant leader, and the Aussie landscapes are beautifully captured. However, the plot occasionally stretches believability.
  • Indie Film Monthly: “As a war movie it’s pretty standard, but if you are looking for a teen movie with explosions, this could be your perfect cup of tea. It’s high on spectacle, low on deep character development. The first half is more interesting than the second half, but on the whole it is worth a watch.

Audience Reactions

The action sequences were intense and kept me hooked!: Viewers loved the fast-paced action and strong female lead.

I loved the scenery and felt like I was in the Australian outback!: Australian audiences praised the film for capturing the beauty of the landscape.

Overall Consensus: A fun action film, but does not carry the weight of depth that many might have hoped for.
