Personal Review

I was so excited to see this movie, being a huge Harry Potter fan! The visuals were absolutely incredible, especially the scenes in Paris. Jude Law as Dumbledore was perfect casting. However, I felt the plot was a bit all over the place. It felt like there were too many characters and not enough focus. The ending really threw me for a loop! Still, I enjoyed seeing more of the wizarding world and can’t wait for the next one.

Professional Reviews

  • The Daily Prophet: “Visually stunning, but the story gets lost in a maze of subplots and character introductions. Depp is menacing, but the film struggles to find its focus. The performances of Redmayne and Law are highlights, but not enough to save the film.
  • Muggle Movie Monthly: “A confusing film, The Crimes of Grindelwald drowns in fan service and lore. If you’re not a die-hard Potterhead, you’ll be lost. If you are, you may be disappointed by the plot holes. Depp hams it up while Redmayne stutters around.
  • Wizarding World Watch: “A darker, more complex entry in the Fantastic Beasts series. The film explores themes of prejudice and loyalty, though it sometimes struggles under its own weight. While I enjoyed it, I do believe it asks a lot of it’s audience.
