🍿 Out of Death: Detailed Plot Synopsis
Hiking Trip Interrupted
Shannon Mathers, a photojournalist, ventures into the Lake Easton Remote Forest Lands to fulfill her late father’s wish – to scatter his ashes at a cherished hilltop. A sudden thunderstorm forces her to turn back, cutting her sentimental journey short. This sets the stage for the unforeseen events that follow.

Witness to Corruption
On her return, Shannon inadvertently stumbles upon a clandestine meeting between Billie, a corrupt police officer, and Jimmy, a drug peddler. Their deal turns sour when Billie discovers Jimmy is recording their conversation. In a swift act of violence, Billie shoots Jimmy dead. Shannon captures the entire scene on her camera, making her an unintended witness and a target.

Retired Cop’s Intervention
Jack Harris, a retired cop grappling with the recent loss of his wife, seeks solace at his niece Pam’s forest lodge. His peaceful retreat is disrupted when he hears Shannon’s cries for help near a marsh. Intervening, Jack confronts Billie and rescues Shannon, setting off a chain of events where they must outwit the corrupt officers.

Turning the Tables
Shannon and Jack are separated, and Shannon finds herself in a shed, where she arms herself. She stabs Billie as she chases after her. Jack gives Shannon his gun and asks her to go back to retrieve her camera, while he gets his phone. Shannon kills corrupt officers Billie and Tommy and retrieves her camera.

💥 Out of Death Reviews
Personal Review
Okay, so I went into this knowing it wasn’t going to be a masterpiece, but wow. Bruce Willis looks like he’d rather be anywhere else. Jaime King tries her best, but the script is just…awful. There’s this one scene where the CGI rain is so fake it’s hilarious. The whole thing felt rushed and cheap. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it even for a bad movie night; there are way better options out there. I think this is one you should skip.

Professional Reviews
- MovieWeb: “While the critic in a MovieWeb article felt that Bruce Willis’ final movie ‘Assassin’ was harshly treated, that’s doesn’t mean this film is any good. ‘Out of Death’ follows similar plotlines and Willis puts in a half-hearted performance. It has an okay plot, but this doesn’t save it.
- IMDb: “Predictable and poorly executed, ‘Out of Death’ wastes a decent premise. The acting is subpar, with the exception of Jaime King. Willis seems disinterested, phoning in his performance. The cinematography is bland, and the dialogue is atrocious. It feels like a low-budget student film.
- IMDb: “‘Out of Death’ is a generic crime thriller elevated only slightly by decent scenery. The plot is predictable, and Willis delivers a sleepwalking performance. The action is uninspired, and the script offers nothing new. Only die-hard Willis fans might find some small enjoyment.
