💥 A Good Day to Die Hard Reviews

Personal Review

I wanted to love this movie, I really did. I’m a huge Die Hard fan, but this felt like a completely different franchise. The action was over-the-top to the point of ridiculousness, and the characters were bland. I missed the witty banter and the relatable Everyman quality of John McClane from the earlier films. The car chase at the beginning was cool, but it couldn’t save the movie for me. The only thing that slightly made me happy was Lucy McClane appearing in this movie, even though it was a really short apperance.

Professional Reviews

  • Rotten Tomatoes: “A Good Day to Die Hard is anemic, generic, and all-too-forgettable, offering very little of the humor or creativity that made the earlier installments in the series so much fun.
  • IGN: “A Good Day to Die Hard has some fun action, but lacks the wit and ingenuity of the earlier films. The father-son dynamic feels forced, and the villain is forgettable.
  • Entertainment Weekly: “This Die Hard is a loud, dumb, and plain boring fifth chapter. Bruce Willis isn’t the reason why this fails to be a good day. At the age of 57, the man can still run, carry a mean weapon and kick ass.

Audience Reactions

Some viewers enjoyed the over-the-top action and explosions.: Many fans felt the film strayed too far from the original Die Hard formula.

The father-son dynamic between John and Jack McClane was a point of contention.: Some found it forced and unconvincing, while others appreciated the attempt at character development.

Overall Consensus: A Good Day to Die Hard is generally considered the weakest entry in the Die Hard franchise, criticized for its generic action, weak plot, and lack of connection to the original films.
