🍿 Annabelle Comes Home: Detailed Plot Synopsis
The Warrens Secure Annabelle
In 1971, Ed and Lorraine Warren take possession of the Annabelle doll after it terrorizes two nurses. They understand the immense danger it poses. They decide to bring Annabelle to their home, which also serves as a repository for other cursed and haunted objects they’ve collected over the years.

The Artifact Room
The Warrens place Annabelle in a locked glass case within their artifact room, a space blessed by a priest to contain the evil within the objects. This room is meant to keep the outside world safe from the paranormal threats these items possess. The glass case is meant to keep Annabelle’s evil contained. One year later, the Warrens leave for an overnight trip, leaving their daughter, Judy, in the care of a babysitter, Mary Ellen. This sets the stage for the night of terror.

Daniela’s Curiosity Unleashes Chaos
Mary Ellen’s friend, Daniela, arrives uninvited, driven by a desire to contact her deceased father. Unaware of the danger, Daniela sneaks into the artifact room, defying warnings and driven by grief. She begins touching the various cursed objects within the room, hoping to connect with her father. Daniela inadvertently unlocks Annabelle’s case, unleashing the doll’s evil influence. This act triggers a chain of events, awakening other malevolent spirits and plunging the house into chaos.

Night of Terror
With Annabelle’s influence unleashed, the house becomes a battleground against a host of evil entities. Judy, Mary Ellen, and Daniela must confront their deepest fears as they are terrorized by various spirits. These entities are all empowered by Annabelle’s presence. Bob Palmeri, Mary Ellen’s crush, also gets caught up in the terror when he visits.

💥 Annabelle Comes Home Reviews
Personal Review
As a huge fan of the Conjuring universe, I was excited for this one! I think this movie has some genuinely creepy moments, and I especially loved seeing the Warren’s artifact room come to life. McKenna Grace as Judy was absolutely perfect, and her ability to portray a child seeing such evil was mesmerizing. The ending felt a little rushed, but overall, I enjoyed the ride and recommend it to anyone who loves a good scare! One of my favorite scenes was when Daniela was watching the TV, and she see’s her future. This was by far the scariest part of the movie, in my opinion!

- IGN: “While not the scariest entry in the Conjuring Universe, ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ offers a fun and spooky ride, capitalizing on the creepy artifacts in the Warrens’ collection. The cast delivers solid performances, and the scares are effective, even if somewhat predictable.
- RogerEbert.com: “Gary Dauberman’s directorial debut is a serviceable but ultimately uninspired addition to the ‘Conjuring’ franchise. Lacking the genuine dread of the original films, ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ relies too heavily on jump scares and familiar horror tropes.
