🍿 Ghosted: Detailed Plot Synopsis

Meet Cute at the Farmer’s Market

Cole, a farmer, meets Sadie at a farmer’s market and they hit it off immediately. They spend an amazing day and night together, and Cole is convinced he’s found ‘the one.’ However, after their date, Sadie doesn’t respond to his texts, leading Cole to believe he’s been ghosted. His family, especially his sister, reinforces this idea, but his parents encourage him to pursue her.

Ghosted Scene 1

Impulsive Trip to London & Abduction

Driven by his feelings, Cole decides to surprise Sadie in London, using a tracker on his inhaler that he’d accidentally left in her bag. In London, Cole is mistaken for a CIA operative known as ‘the Taxman’ and is abducted by arms dealers. He’s transported to Pakistan, where he’s about to be tortured for a passcode to a deadly bioweapon.

Ghosted Scene 2

Sadie Reveals Her True Identity

Just as Cole is about to be tortured, Sadie arrives and rescues him, revealing that she is, in fact, the real ‘Taxman’ and a CIA agent. They escape through the Khyber Pass after a car chase. Cole learns about Sadie’s dangerous life, while trying to comprehend the situation. They argue, and he briefly leaves her, but is forced back together with her when a bounty is put on his head.

Ghosted Scene 3

The Aztec Bioweapon and Dangerous Alliances

The pair discover that a disgraced intelligence agent named Leveque is attempting to sell a stolen bioweapon called ‘Aztec,’ and they are the only ones who can stop him. Leveque needs the passcode to unlock the weapon, putting Sadie and Cole in further danger. They go on an international adventure together as Leveque continues to attempt to retrieve the weapon from them, and Cole helps Sadie save the day.

💥 Ghosted Reviews

Personal Review

I went into ‘Ghosted’ hoping for a fun action-romance, but I came out disappointed. While Chris Evans is charming and Ana de Armas is captivating, they just didn’t click for me. The plot felt recycled, and the humor was often cringeworthy. The fight scenes were decent, but they couldn’t make up for the lack of a compelling story. The scene in the revolving restaurant was over-the-top, but not in a good way. Overall, it’s a forgettable movie that doesn’t live up to its potential.

Professional Reviews

  • FandomWire: “Ghosted blends action, comedy, and romance, but struggles to find its tone. While the jokes can be funny, the movie often feels indecisive. Chris Evans and Ana de Armas have some chemistry, but the film lacks the commitment to comedy needed to truly shine.
  • Deadline Film + TV: “Ghosted suffers from a generic storyline and lacks originality. The film doesn’t take full advantage of its talented cast, resulting in a predictable and uninspired experience. Even the action sequences fail to deliver the excitement needed to elevate the film.
  • IMDB User: “A star-studded cast can’t save ‘Ghosted’ from a terrible script and zero chemistry between the leads. The plot is contrived, the humor falls flat, and the action is uninspired. It’s a waste of talent and a generous 4/10 comes only from pity for the cast and crew.
