💥 Girl on the Third Floor Reviews

Personal Review

I went into this movie expecting a generic haunted house flick, but it was so much weirder than that. The ‘goo’ effects were disturbing, and the house itself felt like a character. Some of the plot choices were questionable, but overall, I found it strangely compelling. Punk’s performance definitely had some Bruce Campbell vibes, which was a fun surprise! It’s not going to win any awards, but it kept me entertained and grossed out.

Professional Reviews

  • IMDb: “Stylistically Well Done Hit&Miss Haunted House Horror – I was quite excited for this one, the trailer looked promising, a friend got me interested in seeing C. M. Punk and even the poster’s pretty nice. While I certainly dig the movies aesthethic and some other elements, Girl on the Third Floor has its share of flaws. It’s hard to find Girl on the Third Floor either scary or very funny, but it was a certainly amusing and aesthetically pleasant expierence for a horror buff such as myself.
  • Roger Ebert: “A solid B rated horror, and not one of those so bad it’s good kind, it’s just bad! Mediocre acting by some mixed martial arts/actor guy that I’ve never heard of playing an extremely unlikeable character. The movie drags in the beginning with poorly edited scenes of the protagonist doing shoddy remodeling work on a historic home, jogging and ogling women, and having unnecessary banter with townsfolk and his dog.

Audience Reactions

The practical effects and eerie atmosphere made the film stand out.: Viewers appreciated the unique blend of horror and dark humor, even if the plot was a bit messy.

Overall Consensus: Mixed reviews, some appreciate the unique style and dark humor, others find it poorly executed and nonsensical.
