💥 Hanover Street Reviews
Personal Review
I watched this movie because I love Harrison Ford, and the WWII setting intrigued me. I thought it was a decent movie, but not one of his best. I really enjoyed the scenes between Ford and Christopher Plummer when they were behind enemy lines. Those scenes were much more interesting than the love story. The music was beautiful and definitely added to the overall atmosphere. Ultimately, it’s an okay movie to watch if you are a Harrison Ford fan.

Professional Reviews
- IMDb: “Hanover Street tries to be a classic war romance but ends up a bit bland. Ford and Plummer have great chemistry, but the love story lacks depth. The war action is decent, but the plot is predictable.
- FilmCritic.com: “The film has some good military movie sequences, but the whole thing fails primarily due to overwrought dialogue that is very soap operatic. Without John Barry’s romantic score, this film would be pathetic. A noble dialogue at the end is a struggle to listen to and is a riff on the immortal Casablanca.
Audience Reactions
The chemistry between Harrison Ford and Christopher Plummer makes the film watchable.: Many viewers found the pairing of Ford and Plummer to be a highlight, despite the film’s flaws.
John Barry’s score beautifully enhances the emotional impact of the movie.: The soundtrack is often praised for adding depth and romance to the somewhat weak plot.
Overall Consensus: Hanover Street is a watchable but flawed WWII romance, carried by its leads and beautiful score, but ultimately falling short of its potential.
