A Childhood Wish

In 1985 Boston, young John Bennett makes a Christmas wish that his teddy bear, Ted, would come to life so he wouldn’t be lonely. His wish comes true, and Ted becomes a walking, talking companion. The miracle makes them both instant celebrities.

Ted Scene 1

Growing Up (or Not)

Twenty-seven years later, John and Ted are still inseparable, living together in a Boston apartment. They spend their days getting high, watching TV, and generally avoiding responsibility. John’s girlfriend of four years, Lori, is increasingly frustrated with their immature lifestyle.

Ted Scene 2

The Ultimatum

Lori realizes that Ted is preventing John from growing up and living up to his potential. She gives John an ultimatum: it’s either her or Ted. John, torn between his best friend and his girlfriend, reluctantly agrees to make changes and asks Ted to move out.

Ted Scene 3

Crashing the Concert

After a falling out, John and Ted make up and crash the Norah Jones concert to apologize to Lori. Lori, however, is currently on a date with Rex. Ted knows Norah Jones and she agrees to let John sing a song. After John is booed off stage, Lori is touched but leaves the date.

Ted Scene 4

Kidnapping and Chase

Ted is kidnapped by Donny, a creepy stalker, and his son Robert who’s obsessed with Ted. During Robert’s playtime, Ted tricks the boy, enabling him to call John, who is now with Lori, to tell him what is going on.
